The Little Things
"Don't live the same 75 years and call it a life" - Robin Sharma.
From our early childhood, we are taught to go big in life. Become a big name, have a big house, drive a big car and make big money. Our whole life elapses in making it BIG! What we do in this process is forget about the little things in life. The little joys of life. We forget to live for the 5am sunrises, the meeting of the old stars and the new sun, the chilly dawn or the 5pm sunsets, the redness of the dusk, the flock of birds returning to their nests, the tired sun bidding goodbye and making way for the beautiful moon.
We forget to live for road trips and bike rides, in the hurry of reaching the destination we forget to enjoy the trip, with music in your ears and wind in your hair, making you realise, you are not only alive, but living.
Amongst the bickering people, we forget to surround ourselves with the people who love us, who we love, who make us realise that the world is not a cold, harsh place to live in.
In our pursuit to happiness, often we forget that happiness is a way to travel and not the destination.
We forget to sometimes pull over and just see how far we have come, see the distance we have travelled and marvel upon and just take one day off. It would be okay if the only thing we did today was to breathe.
Little moments make big difference.
