Love Actually

"It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around." - Hugh Grant in the blockbuster Love Actually.

Last week I watched this movie and these were the first lines in the movie, they immediately intrigued me.

In this world of heavy traffic jams, moody weather, intolerant bosses, impatient clients, bickering spouses, complaining parents and insatiable kids, somewhere in between we fail to notice the women who let us overtake her, the sun which hid itself when it was our lunchtime, that small smirk of appreciation from the boss, the trust which the clients put in us, the tasty dinner which the spouse made, the prayer which the parents said when we left the house and the hug which the kid gave us when we returned home.

Amongst all creases on our forehead, we have forgotten to put a smile on our lips.

I have always believed that "Love is the best thing we do" (quoting Ted Mosby). If that's the truth then why don't we love, just love? Why don't we just open ourselves to all kinds of love, smile genuinely, embrace tightly, kiss passionately and love wholeheartedly. Why do we keep ourselves so busy hating people and things that we don't have time to love the other more beautiful things?

And genuinely acts of love are not that rare, because if see you will find that love actually is all around us.
