We Do Not Have Love

The clock hurried towards the doomed hour,
The night shifted to its darkest self,
Our eyes were incessantly talking,
Our lips too afraid to let the rogue words slip
Because we did not have long to love.

All those glossy and gleeful days,
Those sinful and wicked nights,
Those rose colored memories,
And those starry eyed dreams,
Had led to this forlorn night
We did not have long to love

All those lonely and dismal afternoons
Those caged and teary nights
Those conversations growing shorter and louder,
And ceasing the exhausting tries to hold on
Had led to this fit in the heart.
We did not have long to love

He saw himself in her eyes for the last time,
She gave him the smile he had initally fallen for
Our hands locked as if trying to remember the touch
And as the tears strolled around our cheeks reminiscing about our love,
We kissed to the old times together and to the new times apart.
Because we didn't have long to love,
A night, an hour, a kiss, a touch.

We didn't have long to love.
